Art Direction: Social Media Command Center
Not everything happens on a screen.
While working on Capital One’s Brand Social team, I was brought in to transform the glass surrounding our Social Media Command Center—the department’s visual heartbeat and home to a massive live social metrics display.
The brief was simple: make the space unmistakably Capital One without getting in the way of the data.
I explored concepts that played with transparency, scale, and repetition, ultimately landing on a graphic treatment built around Capital One’s iconic hexagon. Frosted and outlined hexagons drift across the glass in varying sizes, layered with knocked-out social media icons to create a sense of movement while keeping the screen fully visible.
My print background came in handy here. I took the project from concept and presentation through production, working directly with the glass installation partner to make sure the final artwork translated exactly as intended.
The result was a branded installation that felt less like office décor and more like a physical expression of the team’s work.
