Art Direction & Animation for iPhone & LG Promo Email Campaign
The Ask
My copywriter partner and I were tasked with developing an email campaign promoting iPhone 8, iPhone XR, Apple Watch, and LG G7 ThinQ deals for the holiday season.
The Approach
I used this opportunity to push for a mobile-first design approach on our team. I redesigned the email template to accommodate multiple CTAs.
Within Apple design best practices, I adjusted Sprint’s print holiday style elements (glitter, gold foil, and a script typeface) to apply to a digital touchpoint.
I selected products images based on what best fit the copy. Most of the imagery remained static as with previous campaigns, but for one email I thought it would be fun for a device graphic to play off of the copy my partner provided: “Ring in the New Year.” I made the phone ring animation subtle and optimized it for email delivery.
Results
Our campaign increased Sprint’s email click-through rates by 130% and became the company’s most successful email campaign. I received the Sprint Digital “Values Award” for work on email and paid search and was tapped to redesign Sprint Plans and Homepage.
